Weekend Warrior - May 3 - 5

If you are looking to efficiently max out your support of local music this weekend, then you definitely want to hit the 3rd annual Good How Are You Fest. Brought to us by Good How Are You Records and Paper Scissors Media, the two-day event will be kicking things off this afternoon at its de facto homebase, South Philly’s Tralfamadore, where Philly acts such as Gender Work and Yeenar will be getting folks warmed up for the stacked Day 2 festivities. On Saturday at Pleasure Mountain Ballroom, you might notice some familiar names on the billing from this corner of The Deli. There will be past Record of the Month recipients Curtis Cooper, Secret Nudist Friends, and Blushed, alongside former Featured Artist(s) Poll nominees and winners Kelsey Cork & The Swigs, Puppy Angst, and Busy Bee Project, so it should be easy to see why we think this is the place where you need to be this weekend. Because you surely deserve a bit of pleasure in your life! – H.M. Kauffman

Debut Puppy Angst EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Tiny Thoughts, the new EP from the quartet of Puppy Angst, is out now via Good How Are You Records. With an uninhibited, stream-of-consciousness style of lyricism, an endearing, relatable quality is present. Working through situations while acknowledging ones imperfections, the recordings stew between subdued moments and grittier, aggressive, shoegazy noise-pop. It finds balance between the cycle of replaying thoughts and stepping out to let off steam.

New Track: "Meet at the Show" - Puppy Angst

Released via Good How Are You Records,“Meet at the Show,” the new single from Puppy Angst and first as a full band, navigates a hypnotic malaise. Getting lost and not being present while among a group of people can be a difficult, isolating experience. However, being aware of one’s distracted attention and communicating are valuable steps toward maintaining connection. The song escalates in a heavy haze of emotive relatability. You can catch Puppy Angst at Pleasure Mountain Ballroom on Sunday, December 2, as part of Great How’ve You Been Fest 18.
