Yeenar

New Yeenar EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

The quartet of Yeenar recently dropped its new EP Nonbloomer, which was co-produced by Mark Watter (Rosu Lup, Howlish). The record captures a delightfully melodic, powerpop picture. Allowing in momentous swells of unencumbered heaviness, the band juxtaposes beauty with a bluntness. You can catch Yeenar at Milkboy on Saturday, August 17, in support of Dionysia.

Weekend Warrior - May 3 - 5

If you are looking to efficiently max out your support of local music this weekend, then you definitely want to hit the 3rd annual Good How Are You Fest. Brought to us by Good How Are You Records and Paper Scissors Media, the two-day event will be kicking things off this afternoon at its de facto homebase, South Philly’s Tralfamadore, where Philly acts such as Gender Work and Yeenar will be getting folks warmed up for the stacked Day 2 festivities. On Saturday at Pleasure Mountain Ballroom, you might notice some familiar names on the billing from this corner of The Deli. There will be past Record of the Month recipients Curtis Cooper, Secret Nudist Friends, and Blushed, alongside former Featured Artist(s) Poll nominees and winners Kelsey Cork & The Swigs, Puppy Angst, and Busy Bee Project, so it should be easy to see why we think this is the place where you need to be this weekend. Because you surely deserve a bit of pleasure in your life! – H.M. Kauffman

Weekend Warrior, November 30 - December 2

Paper Scissors Media in conjunction with Good How Are You Records present Great How’ve You Been Fest 18 this weekend. Split between Tralfamadore and Pleasure Mountain Ballroom on Saturday and Sunday respectively, the event assembles a large contingent of local talent. Saturday’s slate includes the down-to-earth, figuring-it-out-as-it-goes, melodic, pop-punk narratives of Yeenar. Conversely, Francis Ponton, a.k.a. Overwinter, smoothly simmers into the void on a multifaceted electro/synth-pop vessel. With another new EP, There's Nothing More I Can Do, due out tomorrow, Dani in Public lays word-weaving, introspective lyrics over neon-lit, electro-experimenting beats, wrapping the listener in a vulnerable groove. Among those featured on Sunday are the quartet of Blushed, who mesh ethereal, head-in-the-clouds dreampop with turbulent groundswells in surf-garage hybrid. Riding a rhythmic wave, the rambunctious alt-rock of Full Bush invites you into a rowdy release of energy, while garage-psych rockers Secret Nudist Friends captivate with their rippin' jams. You’ll be feeling just fine at Great How’ve You Been Fest 18 this weekend! – Michael Colavita

New Track: "Little Man" - Yeenar

Philly four-piece Yeenar recently shared a new single, called “Little Man”. Unfolding from a tight guitar pattern, the song gathers steam as backend elements flesh out a momentous rush. Riding a wave that escalates and ebbs, as points of wisdom, in regards to youth activity and friendship, are offered. Get outside, and enjoy the company of others, or convene this evening at Ortlieb’s, where the band will be sharing a billing with Effusion 35 and Young Pilgrims.
