New Track: "All Who Are Thirsty" (Brenton Brown/Glenn Robertson Cover) - Abi Reimold

Philly singer-songwriter Abi Reimold recently shared their take of Brenton Brown/Glenn Robertson's “All Who Are Thirsty”. A solemn, heaviness hangs in the air. Accompanied by guitar, Reimold stretches out a hand in an eerily inviting manner, as the weight of the words pile up. Allow it all to sink in. (Photo by Kathryn Rogers)

Weekend Warrior, March 23 - 25

Sundays are usually a good day to wind down and reset for the workweek, but if you are looking to squeeze in some more sweet tunes before you return to your studies or that job you should have left months ago, head on over to Johnny Brenda’s! You’ll find the beautifully melodic garage-pop of The Vernes kicking off the festivities with a new batch of tunes, helping you to forget the trials and tribulations of life. However, if you are ready to delve deep into the corners of your mind, the contemplative tunes of indie darling Abi Reimold will surely help to stir up some emotions that you just might not have known were there. All this rad local support will be leading the way to the synth-pop concoctions of Nawlins duo Video Age. (Abi Reimold Photo by Bob Sweeney) – H.M. Kauffman

Weekend Warrior, September 22 - 24

Summertime has come and gone, and fall is upon us. However, those in need of some music therapy can hone in on one place, and make a two-day appointment. This Friday and Saturday, World Café Live hosts the succinctly named Philly Music & Arts Fest. Among the plethora of local artists canvassing both levels, the spellbinding free-floating melodies of Kississippi, the experimental existential-searching of Eric Slick, the serenading surges of Abi Reimold, the cruising, cosmic psych-pop of Ceramic Animal, and the infectious, rumbling emotives of Cayetana. The quintet of Tiny Hueman kicks off the affair on Saturday afternoon with the endearing open-book of Dominic continuing down the line. Familiarity meets futuristic in the groove-spiraling, psych folk of Pine Barons. Exploring personal depths with a robust energetic push, Sports instantly adheres. And the episodic, comforting narratives of Slaughter Beach, Dog and the candidly soulful hip-hop, hybrid observations of Ivy Sole serves as a snapshot of a lineup that offers a solid sampling of the litany of artistic excellence within our city. – Michael Colavita

New Video: "I'm Not Falling Asleep" (Andy Shauf Cover) - Abi Reimold

Abi Reimold recently revisited the good folks at Swell Tone for another live performance session. This time around, Reimold chose to cover Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf's drowsy single, "I'm Not Falling Asleep," off 2012's The Bearer of Bad News. The takes were captured during the hours of sunrise and sunset on the longest day of the year by videographer Bob Sweeney and audio technician Jake Detwiler at The Nativist, a beautifully decorated bed & breakfast here in Philly. Abi Reimold will be opening The Districts's record release show on Friday, August 11 at Union Transfer, where they will also be joined by another great Philly act The Spirit and the Beehive. New Track: "Rich Man" - Friendship

F/V Hope, the forthcoming EP from Friendship, will be released via Sleeper Records on May 27. Dusty drums and shimmering, subtle string work set the tone of “Rich Man,” as Dan Wriggins's guttural bellow describes the discourse of catching up with friends/family,\ and the powerful positive imprint that they have on our lives. Abi Reimold joins in creating a momentous, uplifting, harmony-fueled conclusion. On Saturday, May 27, All Nite Diner hosts Friendship’s EP release show, which also includes Naps.
