Down Dirty Shake Birthday Bash at The Milk Bar - 11/1

Tomorrow night - if you choose to attend you'll be in for a fine night of music and partying at the Milk Bar in San Francisco. The reigning Deli Magazine San Francisco Artists of the Year, Down Dirty Shake will be celebrating guitarist, Kyle DeMartini's birthday.

This will be an auspicious occasion as the local veteran psych band, Electric Shepherd will perform a tailor made set of covers for the night. Local bands, Trendy Dad and Peachelope are great performers so we're letting you know that this birthday bash laced with a strong local line up will give you licence to party as hard as you like.

Give Kyle happy bday wishes and support local bands who will come together to celebrate with him.

The Love City Horror Show Takes Place Tomorrow Night - 10/23

So, we don't know much about Love City except that the promoters and organizers behind it are throwing a massive All Hollows Eve party tomorrow night. We at The Deli think you should attend because the line up is local and extensive and you'll probably see a lot of strange costumes. The community is coming together to put on a festival-esque event that is daring to be unique and encourages you to step out of the every day club scene we have all happily and fortunately grown accustomed to.

The Love City Horror Show will feature a number of great bands including:

Zodiac Death Valley
Hungry Skinny
Down Dirty Shake
Strange Hotel
Down and Outlaws
The Spiral Electric
Growwler
The Deadbeatz

This is a pretty titillating local line up. In their own words - Eight bands. $2 draft beer. Costume not required, but strongly encouraged! *All Local Music // 18+$15 pre-sales available @ www.lovecitymusicfestival.com $20 at the door // $5 discount with costume

Have a good time at this party. We know you will! -je

Ancient River Down Dirt Shake and California Raga Association Play The Knockout TONIGHT

Down Dirty Shake is headling another San Francisco show. This time, they'll be playing with Gainsville based Ancient River and California Raga Association, formallly the Brooklyn Raga Association. This is going to be a classic psych revival show with diverse interpretations of the genre being expressed by each band. Down Dirty Shake plays psych-soul, with a heavy and stylistic resemblence to The Doors. Ancient River is more Pink Floyd-esque garage, gritty sound that drive, and the California Raga Association brings a roots version of psych rock to the table.

Don't miss this show!

Coo Coo Birds Down Dirty Shake Electric Shepherd and Major Powers and The Lo Fi Symphony Play Slim's - 3/26

Come out to Slim’s this Wednesday for a night of excellent local garage rock with the Coo Coo Birds, Down Dirty Shake, Electric Shepherd and Major Powers and The Lo Fi Symphony!

Headliners, Coo Coo Birds are a group of psychedelic garage rockers and self-proclaimed “natural enemies of human mothers and boyfriends.” The band’s sunburnt vocal melodies and seasick guitar tones make them one of the most sonically exciting garage acts in the Bay Area. Down Dirty Shake will bring their own '60s influenced rock and roll to the party, sounding like Glen Danzing fronting The Kinks. Electric Shepherd’s garage-prog sound combines revivalist tones with expansive arrangements and instrumentation. Rounding out the line-up is Major Powers and The Lo Fi Symphony, who might best be described as a talented and demented version of Queen.

Make sure you make it to Slim’s on March 26th to experience an amazing live local line up. - Ethan Varian
