CUBE is an experimental electronic music project from Adam Keith of Oakland, California. We´re exctied for his upcoming album My Cube which is due out on June 24th via Left Hand Path.

Cube's first release came back in 2010, a self-released tape called Cubicle Rites. Since then, Keith has released numerous cassette tapes through his own imprint; through Human Conduct, a Baltimore experimental label; and through Digitalis, a prolific Oklahoma label, among others. Musically, he touches on industrial, dub, techno, noise, and more, but does so with a distinctly personal, emotional touch — the spirit of a singer-songwriter lurks underneath his waves of distortion.

My Cube is Cube's first vinyl LP, and it is a multifaceted, kaleidoscopic listen, containing a multitude of moods and atmospheres. It sounds like the West Coast's answer to Container, and will appeal to fans of Aussie synth-punks Total Control just as much as it will to fans of Regis, Silent Servant, and their seminal Downwards record label. Side A begins with a noisy scree, giving way to "Favorite," a riotous post-punk storm of churning guitars and drum machines, and ends with the all-too-brief techno beauty of "Opaque." Flip the record over and you'll hear the piston-like beats and searing guitar of "Bargain Water"; soon comes the heavy, dancefloor-ready "Auto / Composite Face Fetish." If industrial music is less a sound than an attitude, then My Cube sounds like a rallying cry for the modern age.

July 7th is your chance to catch the self-described "eclectic sonic-punch rock and experimental folk band," Chamelon Culture. The group prides itself on their ability to take the listener through a musical journey, constantly teetering between slow and mellow parts that seamlessly transition into high energy peaks, combined with sophisticated arrangements and intricate lyrics. Since their full-length album was released in January 2016, the band has being playing frequently in they home town of Boston, but recently also performed single dates in New York and Chicago. You can prepare for the upcoming show by taking a listen to their Bandcamp page, featuring catchy and pulsating songs like "Nothing Special," which opens with sparse strumming and is then layered with another guitar, before culminating in a huge punch of all the instruments playing at once. Oakalnd´s BLACK SPIRITUALS is a collaboration between two soloists who have found a new platform for the intersection of tone-generating electronic technology and the heart-thumping technology of acoustic percussion. This duet features a new tradition in conversant, duo vernacular dynamics that sparked a revolution in our conceptions of space, stage, ritual, performance, geography, praxis, brotherhood, relationships, rockin’ out and more. AHLEUCHATISTAS (Asheville NC) is guitarist Shane Parish and drummer Ryan Oslance on a musical odyssey of pure imagination, limitless in influences, combining tight-knit composition with improvisation, and delivering powerful live shows. The project was founded in 2002 and has evolved organically as the muse leads through the creative sonic continuum… 

IMA [ii-ma] 今. 瞬間: the electro-percussion duo of Amma Ateria and Nava Dunkelman explores distortions of time and handling of the ever present moment through restraint and release. Their array of metallic nature march forth with space expanding densities to brinks of breakage, situated to be caressed by the beautification of spaces in between. IMA have performed and collaborated with avant garde pioneers such as John Zorn, Fred Frith, Ikue Mori, and many others. TONAL MASHER is the solo electroacoustic project of Aram Shelton. By removing the mouthpiece and reed, Shelton explores a different aspect of a 1937 Conn alto saxophone. Starting with feedback generated via saxophone, microphone and amplifier, Shelton uses nontraditional fingerings to coax an instrument specific set of tones from the vintage horn. The resultant music features patient polyphony from a generally monophonic instrument, and highlights the percussive aspects of the saxophone via key clicks and pad thumps.

Ohio natives Matt Evans, Carson Moody, and Amy Garapic made their way over to Brooklyn a few years back, forming Tigue in 2012. Now, Tigue is not your typical band. With their conservatory precision instrumentals, Tigue's sound lies somewhere between post rock band and... tribal ensemble? It’s music teeming with energy. Their most recent album, 2015's 'Peaks,' presents itself as a single work divided into eight compositionally complex sections that seamlessly move in and out of each other. Ranging from percussion focused tracks, to droney ruminations, and instrumental indie rock tracks, Tigue carves out a niche corner for themselves in the ever expanding Brooklyn music scene. Catch their energetic performance tonight (05.12) at Baby’s All Right and tomorrow (05.13) at Le Poisson Rouge.

By fusing math rock’s atypical rhythmic structures and angular melodies with psych rock’s dreamy, chromatic guitar drawls, Bat House has forged a sophisticated, personal sound. The Boston based quartet has been spending the past year or so working on their forthcoming self-titled album, set to be released late this summer, and they’ve been kind enough to let us at The Deli New England give you the first taste! “Patterns” (streaming below) is the aural equivalent of kaleidoscopic jigsaw pieces from various puzzles that somehow seamlessly fit together– a complex sonic patchwork of shifting rhythmic structures, metered grooves, and infectious guitar chords. The track takes you on a cosmic journey; by the time the band reaches the final shift, singing “colorblind but i still see the patterns in my head” - as the guitars chord spread out in an electric sprint - it really feels like free falling through a kodachrome sky.
