Reptaliens Announce Cali Tour

When former members of BRAINSTORM, Wampire and Blouse creatively combine with parts of Fog Father, you get an indelibly lo-fi, twee, garage pop-like sound à la a cocktail of Cults, Beach House and Ariel Pink that is impossible not to lovingly drink up. That cocktail comes by the name of Portland group Reptaliens, and they're taking their delicious sounds on a musical ride down the West Coast.

Reptaliens as a group may be newer, but its members are vets in the Portland music scene that know their way around a tour or two. This upcoming week-long excursion will find them starting out with their tour kickoff as part of XRAY.fm's benefit show and making their way down to the sunny skies of Los Angeles for a few shows, before stopping in Eugene on their way back up to Portland.

Check out Reptalien's tour dates below and be sure to see them off properly at Dig A Pony!

New Video: "Apple Cider, I Don’t Mind" (Live - Stereogum Sessions) - Modern Baseball

Recorded at Lollapalooza, this Stereogum Sessions perfermance has Brendan Lukens and Jake Ewald of Modern Baseball playing a stripped-down take of “Apple Cider, I Don’t Mind,” found on the band’s latest album Holy Ghost, which is available via Run For Cover. The instrumental simplicity enhances the aesthetic of intimacy, highlighting the deep, personal lyrical nature. Those expressions of hope and doubt intermingle, as one feels close like a member of the crowd.

CVS at Night debuts psych-laced indie pop EP

CVS at Night delivers music for moonlit escapades, and the bleary eyed wonder-ers up past their bedtime. The Brooklyn indie rock quartet's self-titled EP combines catchy hooks and soft dance-able beats with a warm, lo-fi psych tint that seems to point toward insidious emotions that lie beneath simple words and poppy melodies. The quartet's debut, self-titled EP is as bewtiching as it is absorbing, so be sure to check out the newly released tracks here (with a promise of more to come!), or listen below. - Olivia Sisinni

THE LAMAAS - "BUM LYFE" EP

Sometimes you can just look at a band name and know they are going to be sweet. So is the case for The Lamaas. They do noisy surf punk and sing about being a lazy teenager. We've all been there before...those were the days. Relive those good ol' days with their EP titled "Bum Lyfe". Excellent summer tunes. Something to listen to on the bus headin' to the beach. Go do nothing and listen to it. - Kris Gies
