Holy Tunics Bring Jangle Pop to Alphaville tonight (10.18)

Last April, Brooklyn jangle rockers Holy Tunics put out their excellent debut LP entitled Butter Dish. On that album the four-piece breeze through ten tracks in a way that feels effortless, but never sloppy. Blending the warmth of college rock and the loose, airy melodies of more contemporary indie pop, Holy Tunics sound  familiar and fresh in a way that's reminiscent of bands like The Feelies, Real Estate, or even early R.E.M. On Butter Dish, some guitar parts are unambiguously twangy while others can veer into the more distorted direction of garage rock—but almost each track on this record is a real jam in its own right. You can catch Holy Tunics live on October 18th at Alphaville, where they’ll be playing alongside Your Dream Coat, Joy Cleaner, and Algebra II. - Sara Nuta

Ganser “Pastel"

Ganser released a new single and video today for a new track called “Pastel”. The single will be officially released this Friday, Oct. 19, via No Trend Record, but can be purchased digitally today.

You can catch Ganser at Lincoln Hall on October 31st as part of their Halloween Bomb Bash. They will also be performing at Beat Kitchen on Nov. 17th & 18th (both show are sold out!) with Daughters.

Jet Setting release new alt-rock single "Come Around"

Alt-rock trio Jet Setting have kept themselves quite busy throughout this past year; since picking up their instruments in the spring, they've played several local shows and have released two explosive singles. Now the group have dropped their latest track, a string-back spitting five minutes of heartbreak and desperation called "Come Around". Behind Zach, John, and lyricist Logan -- the members of Jet Setting -- play a trio of Dayna Osan on violin and viola, Natalie Mays on cello, and Kris Luis on double bass. In non-release related news, the band have just launched their website, and although they have no tour dates scheduled for the time being right now, you'll find show listings there in the future. Take a listen to "Come Around" now. - Will Sisskind

You can catch Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds on December 1st at Sleeping Village.
