One Time Weekend is a funky carnival of sounds too good to pass up, plays BRYAC Black Rock 06.28

Letting its reggae and funk influences lead the way, the group from Collinsville, CT known as One Time Weekend has crafted a record you can move to. Weekend at the Circus is jam-packed with hip electric guitar solos, fun changes in tempo, rapid-fire vocals, and piano notes that shine among the carnival of sounds. The lead vocal melodies on tracks like “Gandalf” and “Cavity” have the magnetism of great orators like Sublime’s Bradley James Nowell or Gym Class Heroes’ Travie McCoy; the instruments move the party along with groovy basslines to spare. One Time Weekend’s summer tour continues with a stop at BRYAC Black Rock in Bridgeport, CT on June 28th. We are streaming “Cavity” below for your enjoyment. - Rene Cobar

New Track: "Playoff" - Makeup Tutorial

"Playoff" is the latest single to appear from Makeup Tutorial. Ruminating in lo-fi, bedroom-pop atmospherics, the soft, whispered vocals are contrasted by the forceful, acoustic strums. Mixed emotions express doubt over sustainability, as the outer perimeters morph sonically. It’s a song that begins and ends gently, yet resonates with a resounding strength.

London Stone - New EP "Just How High" from "Modern Stoner Rock" Band

Modern Stoner Rock is an excellent way to describe London Stone (I didn’t make it up). “Just How High” is the band’s second release working with Producer/Head Chef, Alex Gamble (Arkells, Pup, Broken Social Scene) and Mastering Engineer, Brock McFarlane (Carly Rae Jepsen, Marianas Trench, k-os) and recorded at Union Sound in downtown Toronto. The opening track “I Just Might” has some major Queens of the Stone Age influences on it. Hits hard with great sonic qualities. “Just How High” is available now on all major platforms. – Kris Gies

New Absinthe Father EP Available for Streaming & Download

Haley Butters, a.k.a. Absinthe Father, recently shared a new EP, titled Soften. Hushed vocals and sparse guitar create an isolated sound. Emotively unpacking one’s thoughts and expressing vulnerability, these songs have a delicate but lasting impact. Absinthe Father are slated to perform at Hubris House on Saturday, July 27, as part of a lineup that also includes Brackish, COMPs, Noera, and Clavicle.

Debut Fast Car Slow Car Album Available for Streaming & Purchase

Dadas, the debut release from Fast Car Slow Car, a.k.a. Breshon Martzall (Straw Hats), recently arrived. Produced by Rob Grote (The Districts, Goat Mumbles, Straw Hats), the album swims in electro-R&B waters. A tranquil, humid haze merges with the personal nature of the lyrics. Sonic textures and serenading vocals induce movement and reflective evaluations. House Cat will be presenting Fast Car Slow Car's EP Release Show & Beyond the Bars Benefit at Beautiful World Syndicate on Saturday, June 29, supported by Body Meat and EM-E.
