Those Darlins are the Deli's Best Nashville Band of 2009

Those Darlins might be remembered one day as the band that reinvented rock'n'roll by replacing the blues element with the garage one - could this sort of genetic mutation have happened in any other place than Nashville, in any other time than the new millennium? The band's musical recipe is as simple as it's effective, and the results are infectiously charming. Congrats to them for winning The Deli's Best of 2009 Poll (full results here), mostly thanks to the vote from our jury, that gave one a 1 point edge over electronic indie poppers The Non Commissioned Officers - a band with an ever growing line up.

Third place for theatrical epic video game celebrators The Protomen, who also won our Best of 2009 Fans' Poll (full results here)

This is the final Deli's Year End Best of Nashville Fans Poll's Top 10 - full breakdown of the votes here.

On Wednesday we'll publish the results of the Best of Nashville 2009 Poll, which is calculated through a rather complicated system involving a jury of scene makers, The Deli's writers, our readers, the bands' fans, and also through an initial open contest - rules can be found here. - Stay tuned!

The Protomen win Deli's Year End Best of Nashville Fans' Poll. Composite Chart announced soon

It was a long and complicated process, but our Best of Nashville Poll has finally come to an end. We have gathered all the data from jurors, writers, and readers, and we have indeed the first verdict: Alt Rockers The Protomen (once again) are The Deli Readers' Best Emerging Nashville Artist of 2009 - they took our Fans' poll by storm with more than 400 votes. Congrats to them! The results of our Composite Chart (the one including the votes from the jury and the writers which will elect the Deli's Best Emerging Nashville Artist of 2009) will be announced on Wednesday, as we need a few days to organize it and add up the votes (yeah, we suck at math).

Congrats also to PUJOL and Bad Cop - who placed 2nd and 3rd in the Fans' Poll.
